Single
Line working on Double Line during total interruption of communication (S.R. 9.12(iv))
Ø Movement of trains
on the affected section shall be controlled by such stations and on such lines
as prescribed by special instructions.
Ø Communication shall
be opened by sending a light engine, Train Engine Motor trolley, tower wagon,
Diesel Car, Rail Motor Car or EMU rake.
Ø SM shall handover to
the LP the following documents-
(a) An authority to
proceed without line clear (T/B 912)
(b) A Line clear enquiry
message for the waiting train.
(c) A conditional line
clear message for the return journey of the engine with or without train.
Note- For items (b) and (c) T/B 602
with the first three portions scored out and issued.
Ø An endorsement shall
be made in the caution order issued to the LP of the first train to inform all
Gatemen or Gangmen on the way about the introduction of Single Line working and
the line on which the train is running.
Ø Speed shall be
restricted to 25 kmph over straight and 10 kmph over curve.
Ø If the
engines/vehicles meet in the midsection LP shall take a decision regarding to
which station the vehicles should move based on the importance of the Train,
distance, presence of Catch siding etc.
Ø On arrival at the
next station nominated under special instructions LP shall hand over T/B 602 to
the SM.
Ø SM shall issue the
following documents to the LP while returning-
(d) Conditional Line
clear ticket (T/G 602 or T/H 602)
(e) Conditional Line
Clear Reply Message.(T/F 602)
(f)
Enquiry
message for the expected trains if any (T/E 602)
(g) A caution Order.
Ø
When
approaching the next station nominated under special instructions, the LP shall
bring his train to a stand outside the first stop signal of the correct line or
opposite to the last stop signal pertaining to the wrong line whichever he
comes across first and sound one long whistle.
Ø
SM
shall arrange for a man in uniform to pilot the train. Manual/ Semiautomatic
stop signals if any shall, however, be passed at “ON” on the prescribed
authority T/369(3b).
Ø
On
arrival at the station LP shall hand over the conditional line clear reply
message (T/F 602) to the SM.
Ø
SM
shall start the waiting train by issuing a conditional line clear ticket.
Ø
If
the SM has more than one train to despatched in the same direction, a line
clear enquiry message in Form No. T/E 602 shall also be issued along with T/B
912 & T/B 602 when the engine is sent for opening communication.
Ø
After
obtaining line clear for the trains, the trains will be started on Conditional
Line Clear Ticket (T/G 602 or T/H 602). Following trains will be started at
time interval of 15 minutes with a speed restriction of 25 kmph when view ahead
is clear and 10 kmph when view ahead is not clear.
