Prolonged failure of Signals when Communication is available(S.R. 9.12(i))


Ø  Line clear shall be obtained for each train.
Ø  Only one Train is permitted in the block section at a time.
Ø  LP of each train issued with authority to proceed in the prescribed Form (T/D 912).
Ø  Speed of all Trains shall be restricted to 25 kmph.
Ø  LP shall keep a sharp lookout.
Ø  While approaching the next station LP shall bring the train to a stop at the FSS and sound one long continuous whistle.
Ø  SM shall depute a competent Railway servant to pilot the train.

Failure of both signals and communication (S.R. 9.12(ii))


Ø  All trains shall be brought to a stand at the station and the LP and guard of the train advised by SM.
Ø  SM shall give the LP of each train an authority to proceed without Line clear in the prescribed form (T/B 912).
Ø  Trains shall be started at a time interval of 15 minutes.
Ø  When the view ahead is obstructed due to any reason ALP/Guard with Hand signal shall be deputed in advance to guide the train movement.
Ø  Speed of all trains shall be restricted to 25kmph over straight and 10 kmph over curve.
Ø  While approaching the next station nominated under special instructions, LP shall bring his train to a stand at the FSS and sound one long whistle.
Ø  SM shall depute a competent Railway servant to pilot the train. Manual/Semiautomatic stop signal shall be passed at “ON” on a written authority in the prescribed form (T/369(3b)) issued by SM.
