CREW LOBBY KJM: Troubleshooting for FOP not developing

FPM not working:

Reasons	Remedies
Weak Battery	Inform shed
BS not closed	Close
MB1 / MB2 - OFF / tripped	Switch ON / reset
MFPB1 / MFPB2 - OFF / tripped	Switch ON / reset
FPC not picking up § Terminals disconnected / Slack § Coil short circuited or burnt § Any mechanical binding	· Connect terminals · Pack FPC manually. Remove & insulate wire No. 13 · Check and attend
FPB OFF / tripped	Switch ON / reset
Fuel Pump Motor § Terminals disconnected § Commutator dirty (DC Motor) § Carbon brushes not making contact	§ Connect terminals § Clean the commutator § Check spring tension and adjust
Fuel Pump § Lovejoy coupling given up § Mechanical binding	§ Check and tighten the allen screw § Inform Shed

If FPM not working due to Inverter problem:

Note: DEM (Engine) will not work in this position

FOP not developing even though FPM working

Reasons	Remedies
No / Less fuel oil	Ensure to fill up fuel oil
Air lock	Slacken delivery side joint & release air
Relief or Regulating Valve stuck up in open condition	Gently tap the valves
Leakage in the pipelines	Arrest the leakage.
FOP gauge pipe given up or damaged	Secure or dummy the pipe
FOP gauge defective	Work further if hauling not affected
Water contamination in fuel oil	Inform shed

Note: In AESS / APU provided loco, if leakage is noticed in Fuel pipeline of APU, COC can be closed.

En route examination in Fuel oil system

First stopping, consumption to be checked – to ensure glow rod gauge proper working
Fuel balance and no leakage from tank.
Ensure no fuel falls on engine block. Arrest leakage immediately. If not possible shutdown loco & contact shed.
To arrest High Pressure Pipeline Leakages FIP Locking to be done.
Locking of one FIP on each side only permitted.
Glow Rod gauge leakages can be arrested by dummying it.
Check fuel tank leakages after cattle run over / while checking under gear examination
