· Ensure
Additional BP COCs are open at both ends while taking over charge
· Conduct BP
continuity test as per instructions
· Conduct
brake feel test immediately after starting
· Conduct
brake power test at first opportunity, If felt inadequate reduce speed, clear
the block section cautiously & inform PRC & check formation.
· Ask Guard
to apply brake when train Brakes not applying from Loco
· If train
is not controlled with BP dropping - Use DB (DMR should be in energized
condition)
· At normal
stopping, keep A9 in Min. Reduction (more if required to hold train)
· Release A9
only after signal is taken off
· If brake
binding experienced while starting – ensure BP continuity
Sensitivity of DV: 0.6
kg/cm2 of BP drop in 6 seconds
Insensitivity of DV: 0.3
kg/cm2 of BP drop in 60 seconds
BC Pressure will be: BP drop x 2.5
Maximum BC Pressure (in Wagons / Coaches): 3.8 kg/cm2
Maximum BC Pressure in loco (limiting valve setting): 1.8
kg/cm2
