Before starting:

Ensure Valid
BPC and entry of attaching/ detaching & change of loco
•
Keep
Detonator & red hand signal outside the box for quick accessibility
•
Do continuity
test, ensure application & releasing of brakes in few coaches next to
engine
•
Switch OFF
mobiles of LP& ALP
•
Read &
understand caution order & display it at a visible place
•
Note the
schedule time at each station in Rough journal & Mark public halt
While starting:
•
Ensure no passengers are trying to entrain/ detrain
•
Do brake feel test immediately after starting
•
Look back for safe rolling out
•
Look out for any Danger Hand Signal by Guard or
Station Staff
•
Keep a watch on AFI/BP gauge
•
After leaving yard pick up the speed quickly
Deal with Passengers in a Polite Manner
On Run:
•
Do brake power test at first opportunity
•
Run at MPS
•
Look back frequently on run
•
Control the train from the adequate distance as per
the braking distance ( avoid too early controlling)
•
Stop & start the train without jerk (take extra
care with CBC stock)
•
Stop at correct berthing place at public halt
•
Do not start the train before public time
•
Don’t stop/slow down the train unauthorised to
detrain/pick up anybody
•
Save time when running late
